Limited scope audits are often employed when an audit almost meets the criteria but fails in certain areas. Whether a limited scope audit can be pursued depends on the guidelines of your association or certification body. If allowed, the limited scope audit usually needs to be finalized shortly after the initial audit, often within a 90-day timeframe.

IMPORTANT: The exact process is DIFFERENT for each association/certification body and you MUST check with your association/certification body before you use this option

  1. Start by selecting Audit Details in the Navigational Menu and click the dropdown for Audit Scope and change Full to Limited

  2. If you have received approval to proceed and select Yes

  3. All Elements, Questions and Summary Documents are now optional and can marked as Not Applicable.

  4. Next proceed to Scope > Select Content section and deselected those elements that should be removed from the limited scope audit.
